I meant only to point out that US Attorneys are not supposed to be bowing to political pressure in deciding who to prosecute, especially, as you yourself said, the evidence seems pretty flimsy and millions were spent pursuing the conviction. Wasn't meant to be a partisan statement. Actually, you put it much better than I did..
