I use a lot of apps in Windows XP. I do not have problems, and I am online 8 hours a day. Your statement does not agree at all with my experience. You are wrong, way wrong, for the millions who use Windows everyday with very few problems.

Do you use Windows every day? From what experience base do you make your statement.

I use the Mac every evening at home, with very few problems.

I am no Windows fanboy, that is for sure, but when I read statements that are so far off the mark I know it does not help the Mac cause at all. It is a statement most often made of ignorance or stupidity or Mac fandom stuff.

I have a handful of AAPL Jan 08 $100 calls. I will have very few problems watching them in the morning. I have a bunch of AAPL shares. I will have no problem watching them tomorrow. Our IRAs are 40% AAPL as of this morning.

So if you do a lot of things, and use a lot of apps and you use Windows you will have problems especially if you are online a lot. If you don't use a lot of apps you probably won't have problems especially if you never go online.

That's not really a fair statement. I said I don't use my MediaCenter for anything else but that's because it's needed as a mediacenter 24/7. Also, it's attached to my 56" HDTV in my family room, where I don't do much computing that isn't optimizd for a remote control interface. I don't have any need for it to be anything other than to be the hub of my digital lifestyle. And for your information, my mediacenter PC is online at all times; it streams my webcam, music and TV to my cell phone over the internet, plus MCE fetches TV schedules via the web. What I meant is that I never use that particular computer for work; I have 2 other Windows XP PCs for my "multiuse" needs (3 if you count my Macbook), which, incidentally, are also trouble-free.
