You are missing the point entirely. If you think they should accept their prior defeat then you should also consider that they have started a new and ongoing war after said defeat. They continue to refuse to accept Israel and Israel refuses to accept their refusal....and on and on and on it goes.

You have a dog in this fight and I do not therefore I'm the neutral party watching this endless low level war and you're on one side rooting for the utter defeat of the other side. What I am telling you is...what in the world does this have to do with the US any longer?

Invoking the UN does what exactly? Bush ignored the UN, Israel bombed the heck out of Lebanon...exactly who listens to the UN except to whine when it suits them?

After the fiasco that is Iraq, I think many Americans feel exactly as I do. I am wondering what in the world we are doing spending money we do not have focusing on a part of the world that has only one strategic asset: oil. We may end up spending $1T on the ME when we could have invested $1T on energy independence.

It is a stupid, stupid, stupid way for a country to spend its resources. It is done for a small minority to gain power, gain wealth and have us fight their fight. It's time to end it and let the chips fall where they may.
