Tar sands? Recovery cost of tar sand per bbl = min $80 and rising independently of crude cost to find. Depends on technology doesn't it? Found this in last Saturday's Financial Post. The original article I read here canada.com isn't available without paying. The substantial point is that the process is about half the build cost of conventional in situ SAGD extraction of sands' oil.
