All tires leak a little air from time to time so the compressor is handy to keep them full. One way to beat that is filling them with nitrogen instead of air.

my uncle owned a gas station for a while, a woman can in and he check her oil, there was none. He said to her don't you ever check your oil. She said 'what, I add a quart everytime I fill up' she was putting it in the gas tank.
