Your view is interesting, given the fact that one of the reasons often given for the superiority of the PC over the Mac is "You can get the same thing for $600", referring to a supposedly equivalent PC vs. the cheapest Mac.

But I agree with you. The bargain PCs are really no bargain.

To be fair, though you can buy a Mac Mini for $599, you do have to add RAM to it, at least, even if you're going to use an existing keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Still, if you do add the RAM, you end up with a good, reliable, quiet computer.
