I don't find this (inability to make text selection) to be a problem with XP or Vista.

I didn't notice it either until I switched from primarily using my office (Mac) to my late Mom's Office (XP). Then I noticed it. Then it started to bother me. Now I'm incensed! It drives me slowly crazy.

I've almost finished moving my office stuff around...

and I've decided to sell the PC...

later this year I'll be buying a Mac Tower, on which, I'll install a nice fresh copy of XP. No need for two computers at that time. I'd just use Wine but I'm interested in sharpening my PC skills so I can pick up a few bucks.

>>I used a mac in 1989 once - and gave up on it in favor of Unix machines. I thought that Unix was way more geek friendly than the mac. I couldn't use the floppy easily on the mac in 1989. Sun/Berkeley Unix was so much easier!<<

Sandeep -

You couldn't use the floppy on a Mac in '89? It was easier on the UNIX box? Clicking and dragging was harder than typing "cp [filename] /dev/fd0" ? Mounting and unmounting each disc using typed commands was easier than having it mount automatically on insertion it or ejecting it by dragging it to the trash?

Yes, I know, some people really thought the command line was all that in '89, but I must be missing something here.

FWIW, if you install Acrobat Writer (the one that costs $) on your PC, then you have a driver which prints to PDF.

The Mac has that ability built-in (and you can even view & copy/paste stuff from textedit - or is it preview) but you can have the ability to pront to PDF on Windows.
