I had not seen that announcement, thx for the heads up.

I'm not sure that it would affect my view of IB any, nor do I think it will affect the IPO price range much, if at all. Still happy to participate if possible. Mostly because I think their growth rate rocks.

Color me dumb, naive, and happy <g>.

I looked at the release indicating prelim guidance on March 31, 2007 results of:

Net revenues: $318-338M and income before taxes of $181-192M.

IB states: "Unexpectedly heavy options activity in advance of certain corporate announcements adversely impacted our market making operations during the quarter ended March 31, 2007."

BUT... there is no mention of what the first quarter 2006 results were... i can't seem to find them anywhere. So how do we know how they compared??? There's no inference, stated or implied as to how the y/y quarters compared... or am I missing something?
