Which is probably ok. But the auto industry is fixated on 300. I suspect the reason is during the 1970s when we had the Oil Embargo, in an attempt to shave off weight and increase gas mileage, some cars had some pretty small tanks, under 10 gallons. So the average distance between refills dropped to well under 300 miles. People complained about that. But there is a difference between going to a gas station and filling up and remembering to plug the car in for the night.

Frankly, the auto industry needs to think outside of the box a little.
