Sarman > another cold war is looming if the US doesn't get its act together

It's effectively that now.

> The Americans are falling behind. The US economy is not doing great

That's a fact, but whose fault is it? IMO, it is the fault of the US itself. Why? It made the wrong choices -- the US decided that printing unlimited amounts of paper money (debt) and spending it on the military was the way to go. Competitors (Europe, Russia, China, Japan) try to limit military expenditure and spend as much as possible on education, research, technical progress and social services. Now, the US has trillions of dollars of unpayable debt on which interest still has to be paid and is bogged down in unwinnable wars which cost a fortune. Quite apart from the economy, the morale and prestige of the American people has fallen and others are taking advantage and will continue to do so.

> The DOW hitting record highs, however I compare it to a bloating person with cancer

How awful. I see it as a flight from the depreciating dollar as people grab at whatever they can to preserve their money.

> It is guaranteed that if Iran gets hit they will retaliate

Iran is sticking its tongue out at the US/Israel, taunting them and saying do your worst. Of course, there may be a bit of bluff there but they must have a few good cards. They are certainly not throwing in their hand, which is what the US had hoped for.

> Israel is vulnerable

That's Israel's choice. Israel could easily make a settlement with the Palestinians, in fact, the Arabs have offered one only two weeks ago but Israel chooses to keep the Occupied Territories and refuses to deal seriously with the Arabs, demonizing and blaming them all the time.
