Tuck, it would not surprise me at all to see this kind of shenanigans going on in regulatory agencies, particularly the FDA, which has long been influenced by more powerful drug company interests.

You can call it conspiracy theory, but I call it greed, pure and simple: Antisense technology has been shown to be an often superior method for treating cancers and other illnesses not susceptible to cures with any other existing drugs. The purpose for making negative and/or misleading analyses is to drive the company so close to bankruptcy, if not into bankruptcy, leaving it open to an outside purchaser, who gets valuable intellectual property at a bargain basement price.

Being an investment advisor, and having studied literally thousands of small companies, I have seen this scenario enacted numerous times. All it takes are compliant regulators and a justice system primed to help the rich.
