I'm getting tired of seeing Hillary state again, as she did last night, that she "takes responsibility" for her Iraqi war vote but "it was based on the best available information at the time". "Taking responsibility" means paying a price for one's actions. Exactly what price is Hillary paying here? The price of having to bullshit whenever the question arises? "Best available evidence"? Those who watched Colin Powell's presentation before the UN Security Council with an objective eye saw that the evidence was far from compelling. Reasonable people would also ask, if the CIA "knew" Saddam had WMD, why wasn't that info shared with UN Arms Inspectors? Hillary didn't question the evidence. She took it at face value because she, and everyone else, knew that an American military victory was certain. If a stable, moderate Iraq emerged from the war Bush would be a hero - and those who opposed the war would be finished politically, tagged with being soft on terrorism. Perhaps it's just me, but I'd feel a lot better if she and the others who voted for the war would clearly explain what reasoning and logic went into their votes. "Taking responsibility" is bullshit and simply means "I don't want to explain myself so lets move on". Everyone makes mistakes, but failing to understand or admit the basis for the errors... well... that's unacceptable - especially when so many lives and so much treasure was lost.
