outside of news clips neither have i.. i did see a heating oil tank truck explode and the driver went up in flames a long with loading rack roof. He was loading heating oil , and had diesel on truck prior delivery. in the old days top loading would generate static electricity , you would ground the truck and keep the drop arm tight against the lip of the opening to tank cover. he almost finished loading with truck blew.

most fires in service stations at pumps are static electric caused in winter when someone slides across the seat to get something and then returns to pull hose out of tank. of course some do not know to leave it along and get into trouble by pulling the hose out of the car and then you have a big time fire on your hands. the emergency switch is right at cashier window to shut down the pumps.
