Forty-five percent of the attacks took place in Iraq.”" That's around 6450 attacks in Iraq in 2006, up from 3500 attacks in 2005 and 866 in 2004. Attacks in 2005 increased four fold over those in 2004 to 11,111, 30% were in Iraq. Numbers for 2005 and 2004 are from: washingtonpost.com Total for the world outside of Iraq is 7888(14338-6450) for 2006, for 2005(11111-3500) is 7611. Increase world wide from 2005 to 2006 is around 4%. The Afghanistan situation is not calculated here.
