What in God's name did either of you think was so tricky about the question? It cracks me up.....you guys work so hard to make a mt. out of what I consider to be a molehill.

It's all about finding anything that supports their view and ignoring that which doesn't, even if it's from the same source. Call them on it, and they'll come up with their own "strawmen," such as "Do you think we have to agree with someone 100% of the time?"

Your attitude lost your people the Congress. It will lose you the presidency.
