Do you remember in the good old days how "recycling the petrodollars" was a major issue? We never hear about that being a problem now, although the petro dollars are at record levels.

I never thought it a problem as I thought those with the money from selling oil would simply go shopping, for guns, aircraft, clothes, visits first class to London and Las Vegas, shares, bonds, more oil wells, holiday homes in France etc, or simply stack up the cash in bank accounts, collecting interest.

Jim Willie is one of those guys who peed [I think perhaps literally though maybe he was joking] on the boss's desk in the Y2K boom and quit his day job. Oooops, that turned out not to be the smartest move.
