Durbin, as a member of the Intelligence Committee, was sworn to secrecy. He could not point out the inconsistencies between what the administration was saying in public and what the CIA was saying to the committee.

Liar. The false intel CHeney-Bush provided to the senate is now proven. The motive is also proven if you've bothered to read the Downing Street Memo, saying that the Bush admin was fixing and plantring intelligence to fit their policy, not basing policy on intel. In fact, Bush-cheney knew six months before the invasion that Saddam had no WMD and no Al Qaida connections because the CIA told them.
