As a mother I would tear out your fingernails and stick them in your eyeballs to save my child.

So, you'd blind or perhaps even kill an unrelated, innocent person to save your child? Do you mean you would do the above to the person threatening your child, or you'd do the above to anyone in order to secure your child's safety? There's a big difference.
