my initial thought of bush running for president, he wasn't serious. It looked like they wanted a well know name, they went ahead and named powell, sec of state, to get more votes, rumsfeld etc.. all in an effort to beef up Bush. It was Gore's to lose and he did a great job at losing it. if they get behind Thompson and he doesn't demonstrate like he really, really wants the job.. then it's over. he will never get support outside the conservative republican party.
