I guess I don't hold it against him because I've been in similar situations where beating my head against the wall until it's bloody yielded nothing except a sore head. A sincere person can only tilt so many windmills before he either gives up or tries something else. When Mr Smith went to Washington, he made an impact; much less so in the real world when Mr Thompson went to Washington. Right now, I don't much care for anyone running for the Big Job. When/if Thompson gets into the race, that may change -- or it may not. I've got my fingers crossed, though.
