I think it is an Australian commercial that shows a person's risk of being killed by a shark is lower than that of being killed by a defective toaster.

That reminds me of a Dave Barry article in which he proved that putting a Strawberry PopTart into a toaster and holding down the handle so it couldn't pop up would cause a fire several feet high fueled by said PopTart.

Those dang pastries will get you even if you don't eat them! Horrors.

Set up a strawman and then knock it down. What is the reason terrorism isnt on the list Chris? Death from diseases is a fact of life but doesnt affect the civilization. Terror create fear and terror. I guess as long as the parsons family isnt affected, you just dont give a shit.

You need to adjust this table for age. If, for example, the average age of a heart related death is just 5 years short of an average life span and the age at death from diabetes average 20 years short of an average lifespan then diabetes is quite a bit more serious than your unadjusted table shows.
