Nope.. don't look at the charts - look at the actual prices:

Here's what Keith said:

BRK-B was under 1400 in early March 2000 - almost exactly to the day NASDAQ peaked, and is at 3600 now. Certainly better than 5%/year.

IE in reference to the Nasdq peak in 2000.

Here's where BRK-B was priced in early March of 2000:

finance.yahoo.com

13-Mar-00 1,450.00 1,506.00 1,447.00 1,488.00 34,400 1,488.00
10-Mar-00 1,392.00 1,415.00 1,351.00 1,370.00 4,271,000 1,370.00
9-Mar-00 1,425.00 1,427.00 1,386.00 1,400.00 3,605,000 1,400.00
8-Mar-00 1,452.00 1,452.00 1,425.00 1,439.00 2,015,000 1,439.00
7-Mar-00 1,455.00 1,461.00 1,427.00 1,450.00 1,903,000 1,450.00
6-Mar-00 1,450.00 1,470.00 1,434.00 1,445.00 1,772,000 1,445.00

So yes BRK-B did trade under 1400 in early March 2000 albeit not for very long. So even if we took a price of 1425 (The quite was around the Nasdaq peak..) to today's close of 3606 we have 153% gain in a little over 7 years.
