Iraq, and even Afghanistan clearly show that our "traditional" military is not effective for "today's wars". Will we ever get in another WWII style ground war with the two sides blasting each other with artillery? Maybe but I doubt it. I'm not sure where we go with the military but I think they are probably spending twice as much as needed.
