I agree...but there is no military "solution", solution being the operative word... which is what Petraus recognizes and which he has publicly stated. If the politicians won't step up, no government will exist....at least no government we would recognize as a government.

The military can provide only security...not a solution to the problem. If the people of Iraq won't accept their government....that is no solution.

Good luck with that. That, of course, would be very nice... (I'd like FREE ice cream, too...) but it is in no way *inevitable*... perhaps not even very likely.

(Did you ever think that maybe the 'factions' WANT to fight each other?)
