NYTimes today has a comment in an article that Shiek Nazralla of hizbolla in lebanon praised the israels yesterday for having a commission appointed by the PM that wound up excoriating his govt and admitting bungling the war. The one liner has no context so i dont know exactly if this has any real meaning. I have said for a long time that the israeli war is with the palestinians and the lebanon front opened up only after sharons misguided invasion of lebanon in the 80s. Thats what radicalized the shiaa in lebanon as opposed to the pal refugees also there. Those two groups have never gotten along because pals are poorer and mostly sunni. If there is an olive branch of sorts in what nazralla said, the israelis should sieze on it. Today condi is meeting the syrians, later today perhaps the iranians. Syria,Lebanon,Hizbollah is something that might be able to be settle apart from the israel/pal ongoing conflict. If that ever happened and if iran signed on to a deal made by its allies/proxies, then finally the I/P issue can be resolved because pals will be isolated and the US can push the israelis now that the existential iranian threat might be removed. Just a thought on a remark by a shiek, nothing more.

I am arguing it is one of the goals for some people. As I said already. And no, I'm not being silly. I'm just taking some of the Palestinians I read at their word. You should try reading what some of them actually say. I posted a link that has some very nice quotes about resistance. That should get you started.
