You have a law here and it's like Murphy's law. It's the law of unintended consequenses. He didn't intend to hurt anyone, just wanted them to stay off his yard and drive getting to the other property. He's probably an introvert who feels his property shouldn't be violated but couldn't face people to tell them to stay off. He probably is also strapped making his payments so controlling his ground is more important.
