He doesn't say he thinks we should have a military coup.

He does say "When I see the worsening degeneracy in our politicians, our media, our educators, and our intelligentsia, I can’t help wondering if the day may yet come when the only thing that can save this country is a military coup." Which is a very different thing. He isn't recommending a coup now or in the future. He also isn't thinking that a military coup may be the only way to deal with problems now. He is wondering if "the day might yet come" when things might get so bad that it might be necessary.
