I reek? Because I think his comment is offensive to others? You resort to insults? Is that what you are? I think you're the intolerant one here, I should ban you and flush you down the toilet for your insulting remark... this thread is to discuss the possible candidates, and not to insult the moderator... an apology from you would be appropriate...

Republican Debate impressions:

Most of the 'News Media' (Politico included, one of the official sponsors for last night's Republican candidate debate), have taken the PECULIAR position of 'We will tell you who we think had the best performances in this debate... *but* we will ONLY draw our list of 'winners' from the TOP THREE CANDIDATES IN THE CURRENT POLLING, and will IGNORE everyone else.

Which seems to me to be a very INSULTING and ARROGANT position for these 'media pundits' to take....

There were TEN GUYS up on the stage last night... and most of the talking heads and 'media pundits' seem to be arrogating for themselves the 'right' to 'filter' the news the public hears... and only report upon WHO they WANT to report on.

On the other-hand, the Blogosphere, and even the online polling of news media taken right after the debate, (which CAN'T be silenced or filtered like the major media organs can and are...), have been fired-up with people's genuine and un-filtered impressions.

And, the news from the general PUBLIC appears to be very much different from the spin the corporate media pundits are trying to sell.

Here are the results from one online poll (a snapshot, at the time of this post... numbers may of course change as more people record their impressions), hosted by MSNBC, another of the debate's formal sponsors.

And, people's RECORDED IMPRESSIONS appear to be VERY MUCH DIFFERENT from the story the media is trying to fob off that 'only Giuliani, McCain, and Romney matter'....

(I am listing ALL TEN CANDIDATES in order of their recorded FAVORABILITY RATINGS in this poll, top-to-bottom):

Favorable Neutral Unfavorable
Paul 41 32 27
Romney 34 31 35
Giuliani 22 34 44
McCain 20 35 45
Huckabee 17 45 38
Tancredo 11 42 47
Hunter 10 45 45
Brownback 10 42 48
Gilmore 9 47 44
Thompson 9 43 48

So, looking JUST at 'favorable' responses, it's PAUL #1, Romney #2, Giuliani #3, and McCain #4....
--------------------------------------------------

If you COMBINE the FAVORABLE and the NEUTRAL numbers, it looks like this:

1) Paul - 73
2) Romney - 65
3) Huckabee - 62
4) Giuliani & Gilmore - 56
5) McCain & Hunter - 55
6) Tancredo - 53
7) Brownback & Thompson - 52
--------------------------------------------------

While, if you turn it around and just look at the UNFAVORABLE NUMBERS, to see who people *dislike* the most, the LEAST LIKED by that measure are:

LEAST LIKED:
1) Thompson & Brownback - 48
2) Tancredo - 47
3) McCain & Hunter - 45
4) Giuliani & Gilmore - 44
5) Huckabee - 38
6) Romney - 35
7) Paul - 27

---------------------------------------------------

From a look at the online polls (& bloggers), and *away* from the mass media's preferred spin.... it looks to me like Ron Paul, and Mitt Romney came off with the best scores, by far, from the audience... with *Paul* the clear #1.
