so do you think IB will align itself with hambrecht and take offers for part of the same IPOs? from that site, GOOG is the clear winner along with MORN having done very well...the rest seem to be mediocre at best so far

kind of odd that TRFC went public in early 2006 at 12 bucks, and then appears to have been bought out for something in the mid 7s a year later

i agree that it would be nice to see smaller companies come public this way, but the above results suggest that most of the time, what is offered this way is the stock of companies that don't have the greatest prospects, and thus perhaps wouldn't even get done by the big boys...the few exceptions are the companies that basically thumbed their nose at wall street (GOOG, MORN and presumably IBKR if it does well)

i'm all for empowering the little guy, but i pretty much always own shares in at least a few of the "hamfisted denizen" firms, so i'm always glad to see that their business is strong as well <g>
