I don't remember my exact instructions. I do recall being told to inflate to 100 about monthly, apparently just to help the mattress maintain its shape. Then lie down and let it come down to a comfortable level and that's your sleep number. I have been sleeping on this bed now for over 10 months. I find myself adjusting the sleep number between 55 and 65, but most of the time it's 60. I started out at 35 and found that much too soft.
