Rudy is doing what McCain tried to do when he and Bush went head to head. To get free of the shackles of the christian coalition. McCain thinks it was that he pissed off the fundamentalist - I believe it was the dirty politics of Bush (the black baby crap). Rudy is in a hell of a tight spot trying to do this - as you correctly noted. These guys are twisting themselves into a knot trying to get this religious vote in the primaries - without killing any chance in the general. I don't think it will work. steve
