Land goes to the victor de facto but not de jure. Problem is the pals wont accept the existance of israel, so how can you have a fair peace. 67 war wasnt over land, but it became so because to the pal leaders, arab leaders, religious leaders et al are rejectionist and thus dumb.

Regardless of all the yammering going on, this summer's fiasco shows how tenous the grip Israel has on itself. It is worried about Israeli Arabs and they were certainly not shy about expressing their disrespect for the Israeli government even while they were being shelled.

That's pretty sad.

Where are the kidnapped soldiers anyway? What a mess. If the reaction in Israel is to turn even more rightwing, they will lose even more support throughout the world. It won't be just Jimmy Carter expressing his displeasure.

I was just commenting "why" you chose the word "aquired"..as opposed to,let us say ,a more frank expression such as "aquired through conquest".a freudian slip perhaps.
also.please bare in mind that The Zionist ,in the eyes of the arabs, were the alien invaders.
re france and germany... check out(at the library) John Maynard Keynes, The Economic Consequenses of the Peace pub. 1919...its a short easy read concerning the treaty ending WW1 and in particular the reparations demanded by the french...then consider his influence on building a more lasting peace after ww2.
