The men and women who serve in our armed forces are a national treasure. They've kept the peace in the Sinai, Korea, Bosnia and who knows how many other godforsaken places for decades. They are trained and willing to follow orders, to fight and die if necessary. To see them abused and misused in this way is heartbreaking.

Before being elected Bush stated: "The business of the military is to fight and win wars, not engage in nation building."

He had it ass backwards. The military prepares for war but prays for peace. Nation building and peacekeeping are legitimate military functions - and far better than war. No one knows the consequences of war more so than those who fight. However, the American people elected George Bush - twice, despite every indication that he was not competent to lead.

We now deal with the consequences.

As for our soldiers dying in Iraq, remember that they "volunteered" to die in 100+ degree heat, and for no particular reason - other than to cover the ass of the Commander Guy..
