yeah but AS, trust me, these high prices are driving consumers away from fossil fuels and into alternatives, RIGHT NOW, and these alternative companies need high prices to get their businesses off the ground.

In the bay area we have over 500 alternative energy startups now according to some blogs. I think that is too high personally but say it is 1/4 that- great! It is high fuel prices that drive this innovation.

And this company I own stock was up 15% today :

because demand for their solar panels is way outstripping supply. With this valuation they can build more capacity.

Low fuel prices pretty much thwarts this whole industry. If fuel prices stay high for 5 years we will be well on our way to cutting oil consumption
