And, perhaps more importantly, worry less about other things, like being able to pay their bills in the case of a medical emergency.

It's better to have employees who aren't always waiting for the next shoe to drop. I can vouch for that.

All I know is that if you pay people more, they perform better. Studies have shown it. They have more self respect, they take their job more seriously, they worry more about losing their job.

And how is that an argument for maximum salary laws (let alone an argument that someone who opposes them is an asshole). It would seem to be quite the opposite to me. It would be an argument against maximum salary laws.
