Another friend had hernia surgery a few years ago. She had one of these replacement parts put in to hold the hernia . She developed a staph infection and almost died. She has had five years of suffering, going to New York specialists...and this past month learned that the company that made those inserts found they were faulty. In fact most patients did develop Staph. Now she is in a class action suit... but I have seen those for breast implant persons and they take forever... The company gets the best lawyers..

Anyway.....it's quite a story and she walks with a cane, is rather incapacitated but one of these persons who really enjoys life and is always upbeat.

Maybe because she was a music teacher. I will try to learn the name of the company so it can be avoided.. This is what I would like to have this thread do give advice from other's experiences..

My experience is that the best insurance along with Medicare is the one put out by AARP.... The best plan. It is the most expensive but the best supplemental on the market as I know from testimonials.. from those who investigated a myriad of plans before enrolling..
