The big HMO's are making so much stinking money because they cherry pick the good patients. And then essentially violate medicare anti kickback statutes when they refer in house and get the money from Medicare. Everybody looks the other way i guess. but who cares. You know. Everyone talks about the EXPLODING costs of health care but NOBODY talks about where the cost REALLY is and who is Scraping the gravy from the system. If all the money is going to end of life care. and if all the money is going to pay for long term care. Or if 38 percent of the cost is going to pay the ADMINISTRATIVE Middle Man. it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what to do about it.... A single payer system (although not perfect) would take out the middle man. end of story.
