Good quote from von Mises. Unfortunately its taken so much as an article of faith by many, not even just on the left, that FDR helped make things better during the depression, and that either FDR's programs eventually ended it, or World War II did. They feel that the depression was a "failure of capitalism" and that only state intervention (either the New Deal or War) could cure it. They fail to see that the taxes, regulation, and intervention, helped keep the depression going.
