The "system" is corrupt. Your "profit" is dictated by fee schedules and statutory denials. It's dictated by what the Cardiac surgeon can bill Heart patients on their death bed. (an orthopedist might charge 20K and get paid 2.) Medi Cal for example hasn't changed their fee schedule in 20 years. Workers Comp in CA is beyond corrupt. I don't think that should surprise anyone. The system that would work is a One Payer Medicare Model with electronic payment and a requirement to participate in 'outcomes' data vendor collection.

Workers Comp in CA isn't a system of administering medical care (with monies earmarked) for injured workers. It's a corrupt PIG trough for attorneys and reviewers and investment revenue for somebody's general fund. It makes me sick.

The US health care system isn't a free market system.
