One of the gentleman used our front bathroom and the toilet overflowed. We have been having an occasional problem of that happening but only late at night after everyone has taken their baths and showers. I had the septic tank pumped a few weeks ago thinking that would solve the problem. Wrong. As I was cleaning up the overflow in the front bathroom, I went to the bathroom in my bedroom. Oh no, the floor was full of water and it was coming into my bedroom. Well to make a long story short and to show the effects of Murphy and his STUPID law, here is the ultimate recap. We've had problems with lots of water entering the drainfield and having toilet overflowing, but only rarely. We have a house full of guests. I find that the toilet in my bathroom was running without shutting off as the flapper for some reason didn't seat. So it had probably been running for hours, thus simulating multiple baths and overcoming our drainfields ability to dissipate the water. Toilet flushed and overflowed. Luckily the front one overflowed or I don't know when I would have been in our bathroom and we would have had a MUCH bigger flood to contend with in my bedroom. So the story ends fairly well. But now Seth and I get to go exploring in the drainfield this week. I expect to find roots infiltrating the drain lines as in 20 minutes the water all seeped into the drain field. If it was truly saturated, then it would take hours to get rid of the water. I have been in that drainfield about 15 years ago. Not hard, just looks of digging. But, what's a party without some kind of extraneous excitement. They good thing about it, most people didn't even know what was going on. Rachel asked later why I was running around and then I told her about it, so she didn't even know what was happening at the time. Provider
