re: How many Republicans are going to go with Bush down into his bunker of stubborn oblivion? And are they willing to stay to the end? Many of them need re-election to avoid having to get a real job. I think as we approach the election, the candidates on the Republican side will start talking about how they can "win" the war; and the Dems will take the "peace with honor" road, which will just be a slow withdrawl. As it was with Eisenhower/Korea and Nixon/Vietnam. Traditionally people don't vote for "peace" candidates. This "war" (really occupation) probably has 3+ years to run. I'm figuring it will run down about Christmas 2010. John
