I think as we approach the election, the candidates on the Republican side will start talking about how they can "win" the war; and the Dems will take the "peace with honor" road, which will just be a slow withdrawl. As it was with Eisenhower/Korea and Nixon/Vietnam. Traditionally people don't vote for "peace" candidates.

This "war" (really occupation) probably has 3+ years to run. I'm figuring it will run down about Christmas 2010.
