When he got the 37% relative majority, however, no other candidate beat him like it does happen in the US. And, didn't FDR get a 3rd term against the existing laws of the time? Sure enough, he hardly "forced" anybody to make that happen, others did that for him.
Who knows, maybe Bush Jr. could pull of a similar stunt because of the peculiar situation in Iraq? In particular if that situation were to develop into something really dangerous for the US mainland. Just imagine if "somebody" had an even tiny little nuke popping up on US ground while he is still in office. In particular if that somebody could be traced back to some Islamofascist group...
