"I've thought maybe we should elect a moderator. There is no one without some bias in some direction, but some can be fair. I fear the process of choosing would simply tear the thread apart with even more partisanship ,though."

That has been discussed here for a couple years. I would hate to see it happen. There are only a couple of left leaning people that currently post on this subject that I would consider qualified. Actually only one. I doubt if the intolerant lefties that have over run the subject would be happy with anyone from the center or right of center. The best thing that could happen would be to have Bob wire a ban button like the recommend button and anyone posting on the subject could be banned by anyone who did not like their post. After a few days everyone would be banned and the subject (minus the last two years) would be a fitting honor to Ken.

After an election it would probably soon resemble all of the other intolerant leftie subjects like Soup Kitchen and the View from far left of center.

If it were to be held, I would suggest that anyone who moderates any subject that has ever sustained over a handful of bans should be ineligible.
