the fallacy there is not so much the implication that the USD can be a store of wealth if properly manageed -- but the implication that price increases brought about by printing can prevent economic contraction. Printing to save the economy simply exposes the damage already done by prior bogus credit-induced expansion??

And there probably is a limit to which they can even be succesful at creating price rises -- I know that is heretical, but let's watch for the next few years. It seems we'll have a thorough test of Bernanke's theory -- the same theory that said '29 could have been prevented -- as championed by Friedman.
