If so, how about apologizing not for your "attack" posts as you just did, but for your snide, insulting, holier than thou demeanor that you use to dismiss posters who are making arguemnts either different from your own or who are just being more erudite and successful in making their point than you. Then and only then my dear, the Church of SI posters, current and past, will grant you absolution for your sins. We will even give you a pew with one of your many names inscribed therein.

I hold no ill will toward you. I see that you have improved your dialog with many people with whom you fought years ago. I was merely commenting on what I perceived as phony righteousness. Incidentally, I don't have to go back eight years to find posts of yours laced with ad hominem. You claim to have adopted a new mode of polite posting three years ago, but going back just a few months produces the word "assholious", a term even I'd never used... Message 22801713

I found that style tended to piss people off- sometimes permanently- as is obviously the case with you, and JLA. It is not your "style" but the substance of your posts which I find revolting, disingenuous, phony, etc.....
