We are Venezuela's major customer for the reasons you mentioned. We get about 1.3M BPD from there. China takes about .2M BPD from them. Chavez doesn't like the US, plans to change where their oil goes but that will be a long process. Their most immediate problem will be continuing production declines. Looks to me like he will run the country into the ground - just like Castro did Cuba. Unfortunately for Venezuela, I don't see anything on the horizon that will stop him.
