And the Belgian PM was a Belgian nationalist. And the Dutch PM was a Dutch nationalist. And they enjoyed the same advantage France did: To reach them, Warsaw Pact armies had to go through Germany first, triggering the mutual defense clause of the NATO treaty. But neither nation withdrew from any part of the NATO treaty. They kept their word and are still in.
