And that's relevant because?

Converting a country from a democracy to a dictatorship usually isn't done overnite.

I see. Its relevant to the argument you want to make, but not to the point at hand. The point was that Hitler showed himself as noxious long before he was in power. While it might take years from when the attempt to achieve power is started, or even years from when full power is achieved, for the evil of someone like Hitler to reach its full fruition in terms of facts on the ground, it didn't take years after power was reached for it to be recognizable. In fact it was recognizable long before he came to power.

Yes, Tim, Hitler was seen for what he was well before he came to power but not by nazi supporters and party members. In that vein, I wouldn't expect you to see him for what it is. However, I knew Bush was a problem the first time I heard him speak and worried he might get elected. In fact, when CBS reversed its position in 2000 and said that FLA might go to Bush, my stomach dropped to the floor. I literally felt sick to my stomach. I knew the country was in serious trouble just as there were Germans who freaked when Hitler was made Chancellor.

That's exactly what Bush and company have been doing the past 7 years.

What Hitler did isn't exactly like what Bush is doing, in fact it isn't even close.

Yes, and that's because we are a much stronger democracy than was the Weimar Republic and people have been fighting Bush every step of the way. Plus, we have the lesson of nazi Germany to remind us of what's possible.
