When it comes to the South and that is where I live I think that a great deal of the thinking that emanates from the so called red neck south is really the Southern Baptist's who are very religious and very prone to follow the advice of their ministers in political matters.

In fact I recall that the word went out in the last election that if you were truly a Christian you would vote for Bush... and it came from many pulpits here in the South.

Personally I think that America is a rather integrated place
now. As Cndywllr points out. His family has many of the characteristics that were ascribed to being Red Necks..and labeling again is not appropriate.

I just know that the people I associate with here who chew tobacco and spit it out. Who wear dungarees to everything, love country and blue grass music are wonderful, loving people even though they are misguided ( in my opinion ) in their support of all Bush stands for.
