I don't know about this particular instance, but anti-Semitism and anti-Mormonism (for lack of a better phrase) have definitely come out of the closet the last few years. It is definitely politically acceptable in many circles, provided it is suitably thinly-disguised, the operative word being thinly - plausible deniability having been abandoned long ago. Way back when George Romney was running for POTUS it was barely mentioned, but then 1960 was fresh in everyone's memory perhaps.

That's fine with me. I prefer knowing who all the ugly anti-Semites and anti-Mormons are and much appreciate the public track record record they leave around for all to ponder.

Perhaps you have confused Romney with somebody else. He is an adherent to the articles of faith of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Uh?

You must not know anything about the Latter Day Saints. If you did, you should be well aware that they claim an alternate history of people from the ME populating the New World. A history for which there is zero archaeological evidence. In fact, amusingly enough, they used this claim of special ancestry of Native Americans to gain converts in S. America, but now with DNA showing zero evidence for the bogus history, a few of those converts think they have been scammed, as indeed they were.
